It is so funny when this happens. sometimes if one is a little short of money at the time one must still say this. I know most folk go dutch and it depends on the company.

Reply:no we always split it down the middle, although ive one male friend who is really tight and he always pays his own right down to the last penny.

Reply:lol no we spend ages working out who had what and making sure we all paid for what we ate. its choas you should hear the arguements.

My friends are all as poor as me

Reply:oh ya. all the time. when my parents and their friends go to dinner they always argue about the bill!!! i still dont know why the WANT to pay?? oh well. their money. lol... btw its not me its my parents i dont pay for the meal(im only 12!!!)
Reply:I only know a few people that I will actually dine out with. We simply take turns. One time I'll pay the bill and they'll leave the tip. The next time, they pay the bill and I pay the tip. It all comes out pretty even and these are people that don't "take advantage" because it's my turn to pay.
Reply:Perhaps you know that I am Dutch. I must admit going Dutch became a fashion here in the sixties already, when girls started to rely on their own resource. Besides it was a lot safer..... My lover Mr. Erin Miracleworx, never lets me pay in restaurants, but that´s not what you mean... You go out for instance, wit another couple, and when it is time to pay the bill, they suddenly have no money. have forgotten to go to the bank or worse:"your not telling me your second name is Scrooge do you?" Any excuse will do......


I would not know if it is just my towns people, who do not see any problem in leaving you hanging like that. .... What I simply never could afford, was accepting a drink, from someone when I was out anyway.... For years keeping my distance, is being manhandled up to a point, where I have to resort to my Karate Ma (martial arts some form of ESP) to make sure I go home alone.... Yes younger men too... I would think they have something better to do, than hitting on elderly ladies like myself.

Reply:argh this used to drive me mad when i was a child.. my mum and dad and their friends used to argue constantly about paying for stuff!! (i used to be ever hopefull and say i'd have the money since noone seems to want it!!..never got it!!)


the most annoying thing is i always do it now.. spend about half an hour "i'll get that" arguements... drives me mad but i still do it!! lol
