3. Probably, but I didn't notice it. I was actually embarrased to smoke in from of my smoking friends, so I hid it.
4. I knew that smoking was addictive, deadly and caused a variety of health problems. I also thought that I was immune to these problems.
5. I've quit at least 5 times. this time it's been 6 months. The most difficult aspect of quitting is believing it's possible to quit.
6. Know what you are doing. Know that smoking makes you age badly (vanity is a strong lever). Know that quitting is hard, and you probably don't know you're getting hooked. Know how much it costs to smoke. Then decide for yourself.

4. I knew about alot of it but everyone smoked around me so I figured I already had or was going to get cancer and die.
5. I quit when I was pregnant with my daughter for 10mos and then I started again. I've tried every now and then but only succeeded for a few hours or days. It's the hardest thing I've ever had to quit and I was always afraid I'd get fat quelshing the hand-to-mouth motion I was accustomed to.
6. I'd tell teenagers never to start. It disgusts me now but it's still so difficult for me to quit. I've heard it's harder to quit than crack/coke. It smells, smokers stink, it grosses people out and who knows, that hottie yer grinding on might find it utterly nauseating! It impacts your finances, your social life, your health....your life! Gawd, I wish I had never been so stupid as to start. A decade of my life wasted.

You should make your questios more open ended.
Make it more like "The Waiter/waitress is/does..."
"What would you do?"
And have a LOT more options than just "raise tip/lower tip"
Sometimes you "take it into consideration" or "MAY raise/lower tip, but might not"

Yes I have and I succeeded for 9 months as I did it when I was pregnant. It's hard because I use them as stress relief and when I have alot on my mind and am thinking alot.

Just don't do it. It's expensive among other things. It degrades your health badly, makes your teeth yellow and gives you wrinkles and it ruins your things aka burn marks in tons of things.

For example where I live a job that pays well over $60k would in some places in the US pay just over $30K. Our Clerical staff have a starting pay of $45K.
It is all depent on the cost of living where you are. That dictates the range of pays, not just the occupation.
We are also taxed at a much higher rate where I live then the US taxes. It all washes out in the end.
So as this is a worldwide forum there is no point in answering your questions as the answer would mess up your survey.

I've been doing, shall I say an experiment on how peoples minds work. It is said that the brain is much better at doing work if it can put together or make riddles. I will take your test but I can tell you why I tip high. I was a server at one time in my life. I got stiffed from time to time and it is not fair. I always give 15 to 20% of the cost of my meal to the server and more if I have more to give for service over and beyond. Some people are great servers and enjoy being of service to others and it shows.

I will take your test but I can tell you why I tip high. I was a server at one time in my life. I got stiffed from time to time and it is not fair. I always give 15 to 20% of the cost of my meal to the server and more if I have more to give for service over and beyond. Some people are great servers and enjoy being of service to others and it shows.

I've done a quick survey to friends and relatives and it seems that dads who worked in authority jobs (cops,teachers,lawyers,etc) used to spank more their kids.
My dad worked as a lawyer for instance and he used spanking as his main punishment.

He was from a family of 8 kids 6 boys and 2 girls, catholic upbringing.
Yeah he spanked us with the belt, yet our family just my sister and myself were spanked. Our family was not religious but had some knowledge of it from our grandmother.
I think it's because his family's strong upbringing flowed into our raising.
Needless to say I don't spank my kids with a belt, but they get a spanking when it's due. (on the butt)
Most of the time I try not do this because it only teaches them to hit back.
Yes, my father over used this authority and spanked my sister until she had blisters, but that's when my dad stopped spanking because he realized he went to far. I still have that memory as a scar so I try not to let it be through me passed down to my kids.

Hey guys, i really like to do those myspace surveys that....like, if you answer them truthfully, it will basically tell your friends what you think of them.

Help please with this survey. My friends daughter has a science projecy to do and needs to find out what people think is better. I told her if she told me what to type I would ask on y answers so here goes.....

Grape juice, like red wine, has certain pigments in it that are very hard to lighten and remove. Way back when, all I knew to do was to dampen the item with water and dish soap, scrub it as well as possible (ever try to scrub a feather pillow?), rinse out the soap, and then let it dry in the sun. If I'd gotten to it in a timely manner, that might have worked. As it was, the soiled pillow was untouched until the next day.
Being an organic based stain, grape juice responds to organic based stain removers. Think of it in the context of fighting fire with fire. As with all stains, you should spring into action immediately and attack the stain.
First, flush with cold water. Then sprinkle lemon juice on the stain and let it sit in the sun - if you can. If not, go ahead and apply the lemon juice and scrub it in with an old tooth brush or other soft bristled brush. Allow to air dry. Do not put the material or the garment in the dryer as that will,, for sure, set the stain.
If the lemon juice is not successful, then use white vinegar right out of the bottle. Moisten a cotton pad or the corner of a household sponge with vinegar and dab it on the stain, repeatedly. Then put the garment in the washer and wash according to the manufacturer's instructions for the fabric.
Again, when the wash cycle is completed, do not place the garment in the clothes dryer. Allow it to air dry. It's possible you may still see some grape juice stain in the fabric and putting it in the dryer will only cook the stain to the fibers. If it's possible, allow the garment to dry in bright sunlight as the sun has the effect of pulling color out and is very helpful in stain removal

I'm looking for basically a hand out to give to friends, family, and co-workers to "grade" like on a scale of 1-5 or a "never"-"always" grading scale to learn more of myself, and to give my psychiatrist a good representation of the kind of person I am outside his office. I've been searching around on the internet for a few weeks now and am not having any luck. I'd most definatly appreciate any help you can offer, this is very important to me. Thank you.

There are lots of questions but it does only take 15 minites if you want to go for the whole thing. You could just print a select few pages and make sure you and others just go for gut instinct so they don't worry and spend ages pondering each.

Reply:i don't know of a credible survey you could give your friends and family. most likely, the psychiatrist has his or her own vast resource of personality tests and could give one to you to learn more about you. if you wanted to, just ask them to write a description of you and give these to your counselor; it doesn't have to be a standardized tool. sorry i couldn't be more helpful

Her ex-husband and 3 year old son were killed in a car accident last night. Their daughter who was also in the accident was scraped up pretty bad but got out of the hospital today. Sometimes life is just so unfair.

Father their daughter too must be terrified because of what she went through and needs your gentle touch. I pray for strength at this time as they grieve the loss of those so dear to them. Hot drinks or cold drinks survey?
I have a friend that does not drink hot drinks ever.I find that a little odd.My friend has not had a coffee,tea or hot coco in several years.I myself only drink a few cups of coffee a year ,but drink alot of hot tea.I just think it's odd that someone does not drink at least a hot drink once a year.What do you think?

Some people don't drink hot drinks because of sensitive teeth, others just don't find them appealing. Other people want everything room temperature, some people really do want everything practically freezing. I worked in food service, so I saw every kind of drink preference, even the guy who would drink coffee, but only with 2 of those little cartons of milk poured into it in a big glass. I used to dread seeing him come in though, he was pretty picky about other things as well.

I recently developed a home appliance for the home water piping system. It will detect a leak anywhere in the home in a matter of seconds, and shut the water off, and protect from damage and loss of personal goods. I am a designer and know nothing about sales and marketing. After contacting these firms I find that it could cost more than the developement cost to survey and determine the market base. Here's what I'm asking:
1- do you think this is a worth while device to have in your home?
2- if you could save a few bucks on your home owners insurance policy, would you consider it worth while?
3- the cost is less than the cost of replacing carpet in one room. Is this a reasonable price?
4- there are no batteries, remote sensors or any other devices required to maintain or service. If the power to your home fails, it turns the water off, because the furnace will not operate and the plumbing system could freeze. If you need water , a manual by-pass feature is provided.

Hot drinks or cold drinks survey?
I have a friend that does not drink hot drinks ever.I find that a little odd.My friend has not had a coffee,tea or hot coco in several years.I myself only drink a few cups of coffee a year ,but drink alot of hot tea.I just think it's odd that someone does not drink at least a hot drink once a year.What do you think?

I used to work for a company (best in the USA) that worked with individuals with Autism. I can tell you in the time I was there I worked with hundreds of individuals and thier family's . Each day I was in amazement in how these parents coped. such as the home I went into who had 2 twin boys age 2-3 (during the time I was there) I was in awe how the parents kept it togather these boys were second stage Autism and had some speach and were able to commuicate a little. however there textile needs were out of hand. The family had to literaly bateen down the hatches everything was nailed down or tied shut or latched in some way or another in the almost 2 years I worked with this family and children they actually had calmed down enough to make eye contact keep thier cloths on say a few words and one actually potty trained. They sat at the table to eat and no longer climbed ontop of EVERYTHING. Everday I went to work knowing and hoping I made a difference in someones life ( I visited and average of 10-30 individuals a week) and that a milestone might be met that day (milstones maybe he sat and put his hands on the table for five seconds, or that he made eye contact, or followed directions from a parent. I would go home everynight glad that I had normal healthy children yet sad for the parents I had to leave each night to deal with thier battles, many of nights I would cry on the way home wishing I could do more for them all.

I Recently Recived Something In The Mail Called The Selective Service Survey And It Claimed That Anyone Over 18 Is Required To Fill Out This Application.
It Threatened That If I Didn't Send The Application I Would Have To Pay $250,000 And/Or Spend 5 Years In Prison. And Also Certain Other Things Such As Certain Benifits That I Wouldn't Get If I Did Not Spend In The Application.
It Asked For Very Little Information Just My Name Address Social Secruity Number My Signature Etc
I Didn't Send It And Thought It Was Just Something Stupid Then Today I Got It Again In The Mail Threatening If I Did Not Send In The Application In 10 Days They Were Gunna Take Action.
Im Wondering What The Hell Is This? I've Asked People Older Than Me And They Have Never Heard This But My 2 Best Friends Said They Also Got It But They Just Mailed It And Got Done With It.

I also would like to know if your parents are devorced or seperated. and wether you had piercings done because of problems at school. Reply:I like my piercings. I wouldn't say I enjoy them. My parents are divorced. No I didn't get them done because of problems at school. I had all mine done done professionally at shop called Falcons. Currently I only have my septum, snug, navel, and my earlobes at a 00 gauge. My retired piercings are industrial, monroe, labret, and vertical surface tragus. All of them have been retired for about 3 years. And i'm 17, i'm pretty much done with piercings. I don't want anymore.

I'll answer anyway, cause I'm bored. I don't kno my father, and I never will. But that doesn't mean I don't have a happy childhood. I've got a step-dad, whos been nothing but nice.
I now have some mental issues, and I self-harm, though not in a negative way. Although that only happened last year. Quite a while after I got into piercings. And I don't think that affects my interests at all. though it probably has started getting me into self-piercing (responsibly) a little more. Though more for the ritual side of it, than the fashion side.
I have 16 piercings currently. 5 facial, and 11 ears. Though I've had more in the past, which I've retired cause of various problems.
I'll be getting more facial piercings in the close future, although I'm hoping to get my half sleeve started before that. After that.. I'm not sure. Though I'm rather interested in sub and transdermals, and some scarification. I live in the middle of nowhere though, so its a fair bit of a trek to even the most basic of piercing places, let alone somewhere more extreme.
To me, piercings are a way to express my personality, basically they just look pretty. I have other ways to vent my problems, which are alot less permanent, and in most cases less dangerous.

I'd left school by the time I was pierced, I had them done because I like the way they look.
I had them done with a sterile needle by a trained piercer in a sterile piercing studio.
I have 12 in my ears, one in my nostril, one in each nipple, one in my tongue and one in my navel. I've also had several in each eyebrow, two surface clavicle piercings, two surface sternum piercings and two inverse navel piercings but I have since retired them.
Reply:most of the people who get piercings or tattoos arent in it for the pain, its called art.. and expressing yourself, if someone was just in it for the pain they'd be hurting themselves other ways as well, i want to get that straight, just because people are tattooed and have tons of piercings doesn't mean there messed up or have a broken home. its a way of expressing ones self. but its the fact i can take it and it doesn't hurt me as much as it would for other people, i wouldn't say i enjoy the pain... cause i for sure dont. but i think after its done its worth it. making myself relaxed before helps. i think it would hurt if i freaked myself out before i went, cause i'd be thinking about it. for me its not about liking the pain it whats after, tattoo or piercing thats worth it. im only 17 so... so far ive been aloud to have 6 piercings on my ear, i only have 5 right now though. ones closed up. im getting 2 more, and then 2 tattoos when im 18.
but.. as bad as that may sound for some people who dont like tattoos or piercings, i make mine tasteful cause im aware that i'll be growing up someday and i will be 80. hah

I'd left school by the time I was pierced, I had them done because I like the way they look.
I had them done with a sterile needle by a trained piercer in a sterile piercing studio.
I have 12 in my ears, one in my nostril, one in each nipple, one in my tongue and one in my navel. I've also had several in each eyebrow, two surface clavicle piercings, two surface sternum piercings and two inverse navel piercings but I have since retired them.
Reply:most of the people who get piercings or tattoos arent in it for the pain, its called art.. and expressing yourself, if someone was just in it for the pain they'd be hurting themselves other ways as well, i want to get that straight, just because people are tattooed and have tons of piercings doesn't mean there messed up or have a broken home. its a way of expressing ones self. but its the fact i can take it and it doesn't hurt me as much as it would for other people, i wouldn't say i enjoy the pain... cause i for sure dont. but i think after its done its worth it. making myself relaxed before helps. i think it would hurt if i freaked myself out before i went, cause i'd be thinking about it. for me its not about liking the pain it whats after, tattoo or piercing thats worth it. im only 17 so... so far ive been aloud to have 6 piercings on my ear, i only have 5 right now though. ones closed up. im getting 2 more, and then 2 tattoos when im 18.
but.. as bad as that may sound for some people who dont like tattoos or piercings, i make mine tasteful cause im aware that i'll be growing up someday and i will be 80. hah

I guess they get the message. lol.

My friends and I want to go on a trip to Europe, but we need to make more cash! how can we do this?
We are seven people in all, and want to take a trip to Europe over the summer, preferrably in July/August. Please don't reply with online surveys, but actual methods of making money quickly, serious answers please!

If you just want to get out and you are really cash strapped, try looking into jobs as seasonal farm hands -- just remember that countries like Greece, Italy, Spain etc. are very hot in the summer. Usually the employers cover room and board (nothing luxurious) and will pay you enough money to cover the flight. If this sounds appealing at all, try looking for a small family grower and get them to arrange work visas (not a problem for seasonal agro workers).
Or you can try contacting private-run hostels in places where you would like to go if you can barter work for accommodations. I live in Prague (Czech Rep) and as there are tons of travelers and tons of hostels, they send some of their own people out to the train stations to recruit backpackers to come stay with them. The plus here is that you wouldn't need a visa for this sort of arrangement, and you would be free to roam the city at night - not possible if you are out at a farm.
I know the flight tickets are terribly expensive, so check out Air Hitch. Imagine hitchhiking at the airport runway ... well, you will be inside the terminal but they will get you to Europe and back and it is the cheapest way to go. It is how I got my one-way ticket in this direction and it was the best $200 I ever spent.
If you Airhitch, stay at hostels for free in exchange for "volunteer work" and stay away from expensive cities and tourist traps, I bet you could make it fine with a budget of $1500 per person for the whole summer. And if you do not make that much come late June, consider staying in a cheap city like Prague -- and remember cheap does not mean uncool.
