Survey: Do you give your close family and friends nicknames?
I give my dogs nicknames if that counts! Shoshone is 'shony pony', Cherokee is 'cherry boom boom' and Cheyenne was shyker and Misha was Mishawaka! Weird! My best friend I call 'Brat'!

Reply:I call my dad 'Bicker' because someone saw a pic of a biker in a magazine that looked like him, circled it, and spelled bicker instead of biker, it's stuck ever since!

Reply:Usually it's just a shortened version of their name or something related to it.

Reply:Yes I usually just shorten their name. But my husbands family makes them up they usually go along with an inside joke.

Reply:Some are variations of their names..like Vivian is Vivo, my sis-in-law is Babbalou (her father gave her that), my dad is Poppy (no reason really), my best freind in the whole world is CJ, her initials, the rest of my Czech family just has endearments added to their names.
Reply:I would not give your close family a nickname because they will think you forgot they're name. But if you were to give them a nickname base it on a good quality about them. If you give them a nickname like Mr. Poopy Pants they are going to be very mad at you. I would rather stick with no nickname though.
