I have an online survey that I want college professors fill out. How can I get this out to them?

It is a short 10 minute survey that offers a $10 gift certificate for filling out. I have not been able to get many professors to fill out. I emailed it to all my old profs, but that is not very many and they did not forward it to many friends. What do you suggest?

Make it a $100 gift certificate and make sure they can see that it is legit, not a scam.
Reply:Firstly, there's a great article called "Survey Response Rates - Tips on how to increase response rates" at:

It's an Australian resource and you should definitely read it.

Secondly, there was a facinating study done a number of years ago that showed that upfront incentives work:

Mailing a $5 "gift" cheque along with the questionnaire was twice as effective as offering $50 paid after the completed survey was received by the researcher. (Source: James %26amp; Bolstien, 1992).

Hope that helps.
